Requirements
Sisters of the Crystal: Beat the game using only Terra and Celes. This means after Terra and Celes are permanently in the party, only they can engage in combat.
Barrel Rider: Complete the Dragon's Den, getting all the treasures inside.
I Have an Army: Recruit every character by the end of the game, even though none of them will do anything except for Terra and Celes.
No Regrets: Complete everyone’s side-quests.
The Kaiser is Dead: Defeat Kaiser Dragon.
This Guy Again?: Defeat Omega Weapon.

I felt the entire story of FFVI revolves around magic. I also didn’t much like the fact that after you get Espers, anyone can use magic. Put those two together and it follows logically that in my mind, the story of FFVI revolves around Terra and Celes, the two “natural” magic-users in the game. This is why I decided to go through the game using only those two whenever possible. It got pretty insane when instant-KO spells came into play and my party consisted of 1-2 people).
Also: Kaiser Dragon was really, really, freaking, hard. For me at least, he was much harder than was Omega Weapon.
By the way, Kefka’s Tower requires at least 3 characters as you need 3 separate parties to navigate the dungeon, so I brought Mog and his Molulu’s Charm relic for no random encounters.
Character award: Terra Branford and Celes Chere
Yes, I'm allowed to declare a tie, especially when you realize that Terra and Celes are basically the same character RPG-wise (skill-wise, they're the only natural magic-users in the whole game). Also, they kick mountains upon planets of ass. I walked up to Kefka's final form with just those two and they killed him with physical attacks in under a minute.
Villain rating: awesome
For once we don’t get a generic bag of evil. We get an insane clown nihilist. Kefka’s just twisted. He takes pleasure in poisoning a civilian water supply. He takes pleasure in watching villages burn. He doesn’t want to rule the world; he wants to destroy it. And for once, his villain speech isn’t the generic, “I WILL BECOME GOD AND KILL YOU MUAHAHAHAHAHA HULK ARGH SMASH.” He actually brings up a point pondered by philosophers through the ages: death is inevitable, so what’s the point of life? Side note…Kefka as the last boss has already become God, so the generic villain speech wouldn’t have fit anyway.
Gameplay rating
Just like FFV, perfect.
Difficulty rating
Pretty easy, especially if you power up everyone. I only used Terra and Celes and still managed to get through with little trouble. In the Advance version you get Kaiser Dragon and Omega Weapon, both of whom can be hard, but not really that hard…I had trouble with them but only because I had 2 characters in my party rather than 4.
Storyline rating: awesome
FFVI has an excellent storyline and (some of) the characters are deep and real. Terra and Celes struggle with their abilities and former ties to the enemy. Locke struggles with his lost love. Cyan struggles with witnessing the death of his entire city at the hands of Kefka. The very beginning is “rebel v. empire” but that gradually changes to become something a bit more interesting (“humanity v. insane clown nihilist”).

“You people make me sick! You sound like lines from a self-help book!” – Kefka
The heroes give their counter-villain speech and Kefka replies with that, pwning them. But that’s ok, because that was the last victory he’d ever experience. In my game, what followed was some good ol’ fashioned boss ownage…by two girls.

Hmm…try Quick, Master's Scroll, and the Ultima Weapon. Quick gives you two turns immediately afterward. The Master's Scroll makes each attack hit 4 times. The Ultima Weapon does damage based on HP, ignoring enemy defense, so if you have multiple Ultima Weapons and you hit 8 consecutive times each round, very few enemies can survive.
Note: I never had to use the Master's Scroll.
