Kaizou Choujin Schbibinman Zero Ranking: B
I happened across this game when I was a kid, so I’m writing this from memory. This game is a side-scrolling action game that kind of reminds me of Megaman. It’s also in Japanese, so I have no idea what the plot is. From what I can tell, there’s some evil organization called B.B. Dan staffed with a purple-haired chick with strong legs and a fan, a Vegeta-looking guy with a knife, and some creepy scientist…clown…guy. They’re up to…something…and 2 protagonists, a guy who looks like Tai from Digimon Adventure with boxing gloves and a pink-haired girl with a sword, have to stop them. Given the gameplay is simple beat-‘em-up fare, I didn’t need to know the plot to enjoy the game.
When I say “simple,” I mean it. The game’s also very short, but for some reason I can’t quite pinpoint, I had a lot of fun playing through it. It’s probably my favorite side-scroller. The music is also nice.
I guess this review comes across as disjointed, because I really don’t know why I enjoyed this game so much and can’t tell you much about what the game’s about, but I enjoyed it enough to give it a good ranking, so there you go.
