Not only did I fail to play Skyrim, the game like everyone and their grandmother played like >0.5 decades ago, until this year, but also I took about 2 months to finish my shrine to Skyrim. But it's finally done.
In other news, unrelated to me, this trailer FINALLY landed. I'm a really big Captain Marvel fan, so this has been a long time coming. I really hope this movie kicks ass. I'm also somewhat looking forward to explaining to the younger generation what "Blockbuster Video" is. Man, I feel old now. Recently I've been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, mostly because I hate leaving things unfinished. I'm roughly halfway through the first expansion now and man, this expansion railroads you hard. I appreciate the Alliance plot, where the Republic allies with the Empire because Zakuul is ROFLstomping everything, since it's something new in Star Wars. It's refreshing to see something that isn't "republic good guys fighting stupidly evil Sith empires of evil". That said, the rest of the plot just feels nonsensical. You spend the first part of the story escaping from Zakuul. Then subsequent missions have you going in and out of Zakuul to recruit people or sabotage something within the enemy's home. Zakuul's defenses must be the worst ever if Public Enemy Number 1 can just waltz in and out of the capital whenever she pleases. Another segment of the game emphasizes how you need to grow, since your traditional training (Light Side or Dark Side) isn't enough to fight whatever Force training Zakuul's guys have. There's a lot of emphasis on balance between the Light and the Dark, which I'm all for - except the presentation is abstract and vague and I'm not entirely sure how my character is any different afterward. In fact, besides constructing a new lightsabre (that initially has lower stats than the one I was using), I don't think my character changed at all. Anyway, we'll see how things go. I'm enjoying Vaylin's character though. That chick is beyond batshit insane. It's hilarious. |
